At WHOM, we believe that every woman has the right to quality healthcare & autonomy over her own health, no matter what her circumstances may be.
Women are displaced for many reasons - conflict, environment, culture, politics, trafficking, homelessness - leaving them vulnerable & without access to clinical services.
OUR MEDICAL MISSIONS
WHOM International collaborates with NGO partners to provide clinics to displaced women.
We also provide the glue between patients requiring specific medical referrals or to other NGO services using our network of medical contacts.
Our Volunteer Clinicians & Medical team provide women's healthcare in more common areas that women may need support:
Family Planning
Menstruation / Peri Menopause / Menopause
Breast Checks
Post-Partum care
Treatment & recovery from physically abusive practices
Sexually Transmitted Diseases [STDs]
Painful conditions such as thrush, cystitis
EDUCATION SESSIONS
We believe that women should be empowered with knowledge about their own bodies.
When they are ripped from their communities, they lose access to knowledge sharing with other women.
Our clinical work allows our practitioners to engage with women on a one-to-one basis to explain & show in order to share knowledge on the female body.
We also collaborate with our NGO partners to provide women's health education sessions, workshops & discussion events in safe places, to show, share & demonstrate medical information in a group setting.
See presentations of our most common women's health topics here, and reach out to us at info@whom.international if you are interested in having us hold an education event!
